Dear Parents of PYOC students,
We are so blessed to partner with you in discipling your child. It is our desire to reinforce the Biblical
truths you are already instilling in them.
On April 22, we will begin a relationships series. We will look at relationships with God,
friends, and parents, as well as dating, marriage, and sex.
Discussions on dating will come from Song of Solomon, “Do
not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.”
If dating’s purpose is finding a spouse, then students should delay
dating until they are ready to marry. They
should have non-romantic relationships with others of the opposite gender in
the context of groups.
Discussions regarding marriage and sex come from Hebrews
13:4. We will teach that God’s design
for sex is within a loving marriage relationship between one man and one woman,
for a lifetime. We will also address purity
wreckers such as media choices, pornography, “how far is too far,” etc. in age appropriate contexts.
We will conclude the series with a purity event for parents and
students on June 3 (details to come, please save the date!). As always, you are welcome to join any of our
gatherings to further your own discussions with your child. We also understand if you would prefer your child
stay home for some of these conversations.
